COWabunga Cattle Company

Homemade Shampoo Bar

Homemade Shampoo Bar

Shampoo bars use less plastic waste and produce a lovely lather. They don’t contain surfactants like sulfates (SLS) or chemicals like parabens.

Elizabeth recommends using the shampoo bar, then rinsing and following with a vinegar rinse (start out using 50/50 apple cider vinegar to water and adjust ratio as needed). Let the vinegar sit for a few minutes and then rinse. Don’t worry, the vinegar smell goes away quickly.

These bars tend to melt away when wet so it is recommended that you store them on a soap dish with good drainage so they will dry between uses.

Price is for (1) 4-ounce bar.

Ingredients: Olive oil, coconut oil, distilled water, sunflower oil, castor oil, beef tallow, jojoba oil and lye.

Meet the Family Behind Your Beef

We never planned to become cattle ranchers. Nine years ago, I had already stepped away from my software engineering career to raise our children when a car accident during my second pregnancy left me with a serious injury. In my search for lasting healing, I discovered the powerful link between food quality and health.

Today, Jesse and I raise 100% grass-fed, grass-finished cattle on 36 acres in Northwest Kansas, helping other families experience the same transformation we found. Along with our four opinionated kids, we’re committed to providing the same transparency and quality that changed our own lives.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is your beef different from grass-fed beef at the store?

Most "grass-fed" beef comes from cattle that were grain-finished in feedlots for the last 90-120 days of their lives. This completely changes the meat's nutritional profile. Our cattle eat nothing but grass from birth to processing - 100% grass-fed AND grass-finished. Plus, we provide complete transparency about our farming practices, processing methods, and individual animals.

Why does grass-fed beef cost more than conventional beef?

Raising cattle on pasture their entire lives takes more land, more time, and more care than feedlot operations. Our cattle grow slower and require more management. Processing takes 30 days instead of industrial speeds. However, when you calculate cost per meal, our bulk options often cost the same or less than individual grass-fed cuts at health food stores - with complete transparency about how it was raised.

How do I cook grass-fed beef differently?

Grass-fed beef is leaner than grain-fed, so it cooks faster and at lower temperatures. We provide a complete cooking guide with every order, including specific instructions for different cuts. Plus, you can always email Elizabeth with cooking questions - she loves helping customers get the best results.

Do you offer shipping?

We do offer FREE Nationwide shipping via UPS, your package will arrive frozen in an insulated box with dry ice.

Can I visit your farm?

Absolutely! We love showing families where their food comes from. However, we require scheduled appointments (no drop-ins please - we've got four kids and need to plan ahead). Email us to schedule a visit. Fair warning: our kids will try to convince you that every cow has a personality. They're not wrong.

What if I'm not satisfied with my beef?

We stand behind our products 100%. If you're not completely satisfied with your beef, we'll make it right. Your trust and your family's health mean everything to us. We've built our reputation on quality and transparency, and we're committed to maintaining both.
